We’re in!! Accepted with WorldVenture

We’re in! Look out WorldVenture, the Wynns are in the room. God have mercy on us all!

Yesterday we had our appointment interview … 2 hours, questions on everything from our marraige to how we’d lead the “Flying Tomato” to Christ, and then 45 minutes waiting outside as they deliberated on whether to appoint us. We were both nervous.

But after that they brought us into the interview room, and congratulated us and they invited us to be part of the WorldVenture mission. We’re appointed to South Africa for media and medical work.

Overall the process was very encouraging. Even at the end, they had some growth recommendations for us and our spiritual life which we think was right on. Not only do they recommend growth for us, they come along side us and keep us accountable … isn’t that amazing. Having a group committed to us, not only professionally, but also for the growth of our own spiritual life!

We’re spending the next two weeks in training at the Littleton office where Chris works, and we’ll be putting up updates as that goes on. Also we will have a celebration that anyone can watch from the internet as we stream the service.

Our appointment interview is tomorrow afternoon (Monday 14th). We’ll sit before an admission board for two hours. They’ll ask us questions about everything from our understanding of theology to how we resolve conflict in our marriage. This is the final step before being accepted into WorldVenture as long-term missionaries.

We could use prayers. To have come this far is a great sign, and we hope this is the last step before approval. We have great hope, but nothing is guaranteed.

I have to say we are excited to be at this point. Very excited!

These small pieces are experimental. We’ve not had anything like them in the past, and I’m not sure of all the distribution routes. I’m actually not even sure the recruiters at WorldVenture will buy in and use these little video tools.

Quite honestly I don’t like it, but my dislike isn’t strong enough to not show it. I think some people or maybe one person might like it, so I need to curb my perfectionism.

I have a few more videos waiting for pieces, like voice overs and things. I think things are moving along at a good pace. Missions on the Frontline (MissionsFrontline.com) is taking a good amount of time as well. But the community has grown to 350 members and over 100 videos and nearly 1000 photos. This is good. A good start.

Heading For China

Setting off for a project in China. I’ll be there a couple weeks, missing my crew the entire time. I’ll post pictures when I get back.
