Pray for us!

Our appointment interview is tomorrow afternoon (Monday 14th). We’ll sit before an admission board for two hours. They’ll ask us questions about everything from our understanding of theology to how we resolve conflict in our marriage. This is the final step before being accepted into WorldVenture as long-term missionaries.
We could use prayers. To have come this far is a great sign, and we hope this is the last step before approval. We have great hope, but nothing is guaranteed.
I have to say we are excited to be at this point. Very excited!
World Cup South Africa

Not to be negative, but if you don’t know World Cup soccer started yesterday, you’re probably an American. The rest of the world has shut down industry, closed doors on businesses, and has found a television in some hut or some pub to watch the planet’s favorite sport. Kara and I are especially excited for South Africa, because it is a huge honor to host the World Cup. When we were there last year, we saw preparations everywhere. Even during this last trip to Cote d’Ivoire doing some filming for WorldVenture, the only updated billboards in the rebel occupied northern provide had to do with World Cup 2010 and Drogba, their hero.
Our sympathies go out to Mandela and his family with the loss of his great granddaughter.
In addition to the games, we know a number of Christian groups in South Africa are using the chance of hosting the World Cup to advance the gospel through a number of outreaches. Even our group at Media Village is using one of it’s media creations on the networks to raise social awareness of the human trafficking issue.
Here’s the piece:
